Auditions
We thank you for your interest to audition with the Conspirare Youth Choirs. Auditions are scheduled on a first come basis, they are informal, and last fifteen minutes. Auditions will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 8001 Mesa Dr. Austin, TX. Please review the details for both choirs, Conspirare Kantorei and the Conspirare Children's Choir and submit an audition scheduling request.
We will contact you and schedule your audition in the dates and time slots you provide in the audition request form.
For incoming singers, new to the CYC
- Please note that that each audition session has a $25 non-refundable audition fee. This fee will be collected at the time of the audition. (Cash or check made out to Conspirare).
- The Audition process will take 15 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in.
- A musical background is preferred, but not required.
- Please be expected to sing simple vocal warm-ups and exercises, sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee", sight-read simple melodies/rhythms, aural and harmony exercises, and have a parent interview.
- This audition will cover entry into either Conspirare Kantorei or Conspirare Children's Choir. Details and your interest will be discussed during your audition.
Audition Scheduling Request (incoming singers only)
For current CYC singers
- If you wish to sing in Conspirare Kantorei, you will NOT need to re-audition.
- The Audition process for Conspirare Children's Choir will take 15 minutes. Please arrive early.
- Sing one piece of music from this year's repertoire of the singer's choice and one piece of director's choice.
- Sight-reading
- Sing one minor scale (director's choice) and the Advanced Interval Song. (Recordings on the log-in page)
Audition Scheduling Request (current CYC members only)
Beginning Monday, February 11, Ms. Revering, Mr. Gabrillo, and Ms. Mattox will be available from 5:15 p.m. to offer Pre-rehearsal tutorials to prepare our current singers for their audition. We will continue to offer tutorials before each Monday rehearsal until we begin the auditions. The minor scales and Advanced Interval Song are currently in the Birdsong practice CD and will also be posted on the secured log-in page of the website.
