James K. Bass, D.M.A., has prepared choirs for Sir Colin Davis, Sir David Willcocks, Jahja Ling, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Robert Shaw. James was a member of Robert Shaw’s workshop choir and was selected by Ton Koopman of Amsterdam Baroque Soloists to perform Bach cantatas at Carnegie Hall. He has performed as soloist at Winchester Cathedral, for three world premieres, and on Albany and Seraphic Fire Media labels. James is Director of Choral Studies at University of South Florida and Artistic Director of Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. He is chorus master for Seraphic Fire and choirmaster for the Eisenstadt Classical Music Festival.
